Ethiopia - strawberry gotiti

Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee — and still produces some of the most distinctive coffees in the world.

In Gotiti, high in Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone, 868 smallholder farmers deliver coffee cherries from their small gardens to the Eva Gotiti washing station. Established in 2022, the station processes each lot with a focus on quality, traceability and careful water management.

After picking, the cherries are sorted, pulped and fermented before being washed and slowly dried on raised beds for around 10–14 days. The result is everything we love about washed Ethiopian coffee: clean, bright and beautifully sweet.

In the cup, we get loads of juicy strawberry, zippy lemon and a deep Demerara sugar sweetness.
