Much of Uganda’s coffee industry has historically been built around large-scale commodity exports.

But in recent years, producers across regions like Mount Elgon have been proving the country can produce coffees with just as much clarity, elegance and complexity as some of the world’s most celebrated origins.

Working alongside smallholder farmers in Eastern Uganda, Norman Mukuru and his team focus on careful processing and long-term quality improvement — helping bring more attention to Ugandan specialty coffee on the global stage.

This washed lot is clean, balanced and quietly complex: citrus brightness, black tea structure and soft caramel sweetness throughout.
