Coffee has been grown in Papua New Guinea since the 1920s, but the country's remote mountains and thousands of smallholder farmers have made it one of specialty coffee's best-kept secrets.
This lot comes from around 1,500 producers in the Eastern Highlands, where ripe cherries are delivered to the Outspan 4 Mile wet mill. By processing everything centrally, the team can carefully control quality while helping smallholder farmers access international specialty markets.
This washed lot is vibrant and expressive: full-bodied cacao, soft vanilla sweetness and a smooth floral finish.
